This inspiring guide helps churches build people into powerful disciples of Christ and His Church.

Jesus had an informal way of touching people's lives. He showed up at the well at midday, asking for a drink from the woman of Samaria. He received visitors at night, once discussing deep theological issues with a highly educated member of the Pharisees. He could be found in the temple courts at dawn, perhaps turning the tables on a woman's accusers.

A common thread of such encounters with Jesus-people left His presence having had their lives changed. This was Jesus' pattern. He accepted people as He found them, included them in His care, and shepherded them to where they needed to be. That's the same mission the church has today.

"Left on base," a statistical category in baseball, is a negative stat for those who reach base and remain there without scoring before the third out is recorded. Likewise, the church must score.
We must move the emerging disciple on to maturity. Building the Winning Team provides practical ways to accomplish this goal.
